The building was completed in 1435 but the spires and interior (gothic) were not completed until the late 19th C. This cathedral has the longest nave in Scandinavia.
Close to the entrance is the tomb of Carl Linnaeus, the scientist, the father of modern botany.
It is a lovely cathedral and even though it's the tallest in Scandinavia, it does seem a little small inside. The decorations with stenciling and painting on all the walls was so delicate and beautiful. It doesn't take long to see everything inside, but it's worth a short stroll around. Plus, there are runestones all around the outside that date from 900 and 1,000.
